octane booster

If i have no trouble codes and the engine light is off would adding octane booster to 93 help eliminate backfiring and stumbling when accelerating from a dead stop?

Octane boost (if is actually works) would reduce the chances of detonation (knock). Detonation and the resulting knock retard by the PCM will cause "flat" spots on accelleration, but isn't going to cause "backfiring and stumbling".
