Need some help guys...car will NOT fire!
Hey, im hoping someone has run into this problem or might have some advice for me. (Ok so i replaced my TC, put on new gaskets n seals, new hub, balancer, waterpump, 160* stat, TB, MAF, CAI, plugs&wires, and new ignition parts such as stock opti, coil)....Now wat happened was i put it back together n it just cranked w/NO spark. SO i replaced the ignition coil module and it fired right up n ran like it should, i let it idle for about ten minutes then turned it off, when i went to start it back up it almost fired then just cranked. so i checked for spark and again NOTHING. We then used the voltmeter n narrowed it right back down to a bad ICM! Again i replaced it and it started like it did before but only ran for about 5sec then just shut off by itself?? Got ANOTHER ICM, but this time it will not even fire, just cranks without spark? I have no idea what is causing this so any of your input would b appreciated, thanks
No one has any ideas? We checked all wires for correct power n it keeps pointing to according to haynes manual, a bad ignition coil module lol. But its not that cuz ive went through three already n the wont stay runnig for more than a few seconds? I was thinkin maybe crank sensor? ANY input would be helpful, thanks guys
Have you scanned it for codes?
There is no "crank sensor" on your 95. CKP sensor was added to the LT1 in 96 for OBD-II misfire detection. Has nothing to do with running the engine. The PCM gets cam postion data from the optical sensor in the Opti. Loss of the required low resolution pulse signal from the optical sensor will set DTC 16.

Ok, thanks for the response...yea i tried checking it for codes but the reader just says "readcode error" i even tried erasing the codes and it says "erasecode error" lol so that didnt help much. But the thing is when i fist put all the new parts on before the ICM it cranked n didnt fire, but we then checked the wires and narrowed it down to a bad ICM, coil, or wire in between; so i bought a brand new ICM and put it on and the car fired right up, i let it idle for about ten minutes then shut it off to put on the plate then it didnt fire and just cranked. So we tested wires agian n it siad the same thing: bad ICM, coil, or connection; so again new ICM installed (with cooling mod) and it started right up but this time only ran for about 10 sec like normal then just cut out and again no spark? Went throuhg the routine n pointed to same problem (at this time auto zone was getting pissed about the lifetime i had on the ICM stating 3 replacements in 3 days was too much lol) but tests led to same thing, this time even with the new ICM there was NO sprak right off the bat? so i dunno im baffled as what the problem is and just figured CRANK SENSOR b/c there is a consistant ground wire that i thought might need to b intermitant because of the CPK?? i thought my 95 had one on the block though?
Hmm maybe, but i dont think so though cuz we were testing the grounds to the icm and coil and they were consistant i believe. Unless are u sayin maybe another ground on the motor or somwhere could cause this?

There is no crank sensor "on the block" of 92-95 LT1's. Only on 96 and 97.
Ahhh ok, yep i was deff using an obdII reader lol...ill get a hold of and obd1 and see wat it says. Its just weird cuz the car fired right up great, but then when shut off n went to turn back on it just cranks?? Until i put new ICM on then it fires right up once, then no spark....
To hook up an OBD-I scanner, it has to have a 12-pin to 16-pin adapter plug, or you have to use jumpers as shown on Shoebox's site:
