Question Need help: how is your fuel tank o-ring/lock ring configuration?

I have a tank that has a lock ring that is held down by studs/nuts, NOT the kind of lock ring that twists into place.

I'm trying to find a new o-ring and the parts stores around here only have the twisting ring and o-ring. The o-ring provided in the kits is too small(diameter). I've tried multiple cars trying to find something that works but they all look the same. corvettes, impalas, caprice, older camaros, newer camaros, pontiacs.

BTW, this tank supposedly came out of a 4th gen fbody. I got it at a junk yard complete with fuel lines so my lt1 swap would be easier.

I recently replaced the factory fuel tank on my car with an aftermarket tank. The aftermarket tank had twist on lock ring. I also replaced the fuel pump and sending unit. I believe the fuel pump, sending unit and new tank all came with O-Rings and they were all the same size.

94Z28 car owner checking in here. My car was built in December of '93 and has the type of fuel tank cap you describe. The tank has studs and the lid is held on by tiny nuts, I can't remember the size. Not sure what else to say, but there you go.

Cool, thanks. I'll have the guys check on a 94 model. I thought I covered that year but they couldn't find anything.

My factory '94 tank had a ring that was secured with studs & nuts. My new aftermarket tank has the twist ring. The O-Ring on both tanks was the same size.

Do you have any pictures of your tank? I'm pretty sure the tanks on the LS1 cars are different. I'm not sure about the opening on those tanks, but perhaps you have a tank off one of those cars.

I believe the 1st year LS1's had metal tanks, but I'm not positive.
