MSD cap,rotor and coil
#2
I'm running them all. I definitely like the MSD cap and rotor over stock. It includes a gasket that the stocker doesn't have, as well as an extra screw up top for more clamping force. Very well designed IMO. I've opened it up twice to find oil in the body (leaking WP gasket), but the cap was bone dry. Runs like a champ, been running for over 20k.

Do a "search" on the LT1 Based Engine Tech forum. There are numerous posts discussing the results of the MSD components. The complete MSD Optis have suffered from numerous problems, making their value questionable. The rotor screws have a tendancy to fall out, and have to be secured. The MSD coil also seems to fail more often than the stock GM coils.
The primary source of leakage in the factory Opti appears to be a poor seal in the harness connector tower. Replacing just the cap and rotor will not improve that problem.
