megasquirt in a 95 z28
ive been looking at tuning options and ive pretty much settled on megasquirt.
my current dilemma is figuring out how to wire the system to the opti and msd digital 6 plus. i havent committed to anything yet, as id like to get a better idea of how complicated, expensive this would be to do. i know the system works with msd 6A as seen here http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/msd6a.htm
i assume the 6plus would be the same but im not sure. im basically looking for any and all info on setting up the ingnition end of the system.

I havenīt tried this, but I assume it would work...
First, as far as I know, you canīt use the trigger in the opti to trigger the megasquirt. You need a conventional cranktrigger or similar OR if you retain the fully functional OEM ignition and pcm, you could trigger the megasquirt with the OEM tachometer signal.
Or why not use the MSD-LT1 adapter harness and connect the trigger to the megasquirt insted of to the MSD-box. And then you trigger the MSD from the megasquirt.
Then you connect the MSD 6 as in your link. Just look in the MSD manual for the 6 plus and compare it to the 6A manual.
You have to lock the ignition control in the OEM pcm (if thatīs possible?), then it IS POSSIBLE to control ignition and fuel with the megasquirt.
If the ignition part of the OEM pcm doīnt work without sensors like map- and mat-sensors, youīll need double sets.
If not you cuold do a search for LT1 here: http://www.msefi.com/
I think there are some people working on how to connect the opti to a megasquirt, or perhaps it was the VEMS ecm here: http://www.vems.hu/
