Major issue please help

86 2.8 multiport not getting any power to any of the sensors or the injectors under the hood with the key on. Starts but shuts right off. Is it possible to convert it to carbed 2.8? The fuel injection system is getting fuel all the way to the injectors. Not getting a power signal to anything there.

Let me take a look at the wiring diagrams for that engine and the 1986 fuse block.

The injectors get "switched" 12V+ power from two 10-amp fuses labeled "INJ #1" and "INJ #2". Key on/engine off, do you have 12V on the black/pink wires and black/light green wires, at the injector connectors? If not, have you checked those two fuses?

"Hot at all time" 12V+ power to the ECM comes from in inline 20-amp fuse. That fuse also feeds the fuel pump relay. Do you have 12V at all times on the orange wires to ECM pins B1 and C16?

"Switched" 12V+ power is supplied from the 10-amp "Gages" fuse. That supplies power to the vehicle speed sensor, AIR diverter valve, canister purge solenoid, MAF relay, brake switch for the converter lockup switch and electronic vacuum regulator valve. Have you checked the fuse? These devices need to be checked with key on.

ECM gets "switched" 12V+ power from the 10-amp "ECM" fuse.

Coolant fan relay gets 12V+ "hot at all times" power from a rust colored fusible link "J".

MAT, TPS, CLT, IAC get reference voltage from the ECM.

The ignition switch, which supplies the "switched" 12V+ power is fed by the red fusible link.

Inspect the ignition switch for burned contacts on the"switched" power wire - usually the pink wire.
