injectors

Are ls1 and lt1 injectors interchangable? I may buy some used injectors that came off a ls1 but i didnt know if they would work in a lt1
Thanks,

Yes they work, but if I remember right they are 28.8lb on an LS but the LS runs like ~50psi on the rail where as the LT1 runs like ~44 so it makes them slightly less efficiently than LT1 injectors, but yes, they will work.

Actually a 28.8 #/HR LS1 injector, flow rated at 58psi (4 bar) calculates out to exactly the same flow as an LT1 injector operating at 43.5psi (3bar) = 24.9 #/HR (programming value)

Thanks for the info, I was actually looking at some 60# injectors. Would they also work? I know i would need to change my tune, but is it doable without too much trouble? Thanks for your help.

To run 60 #/HR injectors directly from the LT1 PCM, they must be high impedance injectors. If they are low impedance, you need an interface box to use them.

Thanks for your help. So as long as they are high impedance injectors they will work?

You'll have to program the flow rate and the offsets. Hopefully, they are fast enough to achieve the low pulse rates required to allow the engine to idle decently. The advantage of low impedance injectors is the speed. The driver hits the solenoid with 5amps to drive it open quickly, and then drops the current to 1amp to hold it open.

So is there a certain brand that works better than others or is fast enough to achieve a decent idle? Thanks again for your help

The brand most are currently using are the siemens/mototron/deka/etc. high impedance 60# injectors. I read elsewhere that they are all made by siemens (by an injector vendor, who "should" know what he is talking about). You can Google them, get from a sponsor, fleabay, etc. Flow matched, of course, run a tad bit more $.
And as Injuneer stated, be certain that the stated flow rate is at the industry standard 3 bar. There have been a few vendors who falsely inflated their ratings by using the 4 bar figures.
