Exclamation Ignition switch or cylinder bad??

For the last week I have had intermittent 'normal' starts. When I turn the key back and forth, it seems as though it helps and will start fine 20 times in a row. No problems stalling in traffic or anything like that, when it runs...it runs. It has a new fuel pump, pressure is where it should be. I am quick to guess the ignition switch or cylinder, because one time it felt locked/ hung up...I forced it ( like an idiot) and now it doesn't have operation when turned in the backward position. Between these intermittent starts, I can sometimes hear a click.

Any help would be much appreciated, I don't want to get stranded anywhere. Thanks.

Re: Ignition switch or cylinder bad??

The ignition switch is a more common problem than the cylinder hanging up.
Take a look at the replacement guide on my website. Click the how to's link in my sig.

Thanks shoebox; Yoda of the LT1! I've been going through your tech article for some time now, looks easy enough to do.

Any tips on changing this switch out?
