ignition box rev limiter

Hi guys, I have a blown 94z with a crane fireball ignition box. I am still breaking in the car (owned it for less than a yr) but i want to start dragging soon so i need a little help. The fireball box seems to have a rev limiter built in which kicks in around 5k rpm. Most of the time I have no issues with it, but sometimes when I'm trying to get the boost to hit hard, or I miss a shift w/my B&M ripper shifter, and I rev up to the 5k mark and the car essential shuts down. The car stalls itself and all the electronics die, and the warning lights all come on. The car loses pwr steering and all I can do is coast off the road and restart it. My question is, the stock lt1 has a rev limiter set to 5600rpm i beleive, so is there a way to change the ignition box to allow the stock rev limiter to kick in 1st, and not turn off the electronics, unless the pcm rev limiter is somehow bypassed, then the ignition box's rev limiter can kick in and shut the car down.
I just am concerned that when i drag, I will miss a shift or rev too high and shut the car down, I just want a true rev limiter, one I can bounce off of for a second or two Thanks.

Assuming you have the single stage rev limit box, the yellow/white stage limit wire can be connected to the thin red ignition wire, then the rev limit can be set using the dials on the side of the ignition box.

A rev limiter shouldn't cause you ignition to shut off completely, the ignition box utilizes a sequential firing program to "partially supress" ignition to hold the ignition at the rev limit rpm.

By partially suppressing the ignition I take it that means that certain cylinders are not firing and that limits the car. If that were the case, I would be able to allow the car to idle instead of it turning off. The car definitely dies completely. I will check out box to see if there are indeed these dials you speak of. I just don't really know much about ignition boxes in general.

Which fuel pump does your car have? You might be running out of fuel, making it seem like you have a rev limiter. Any way to monitor your fuel pressure when this occurs?

Says "T-Rex inline fuel pump 50gpm", I tested my theory and revved the engine to around 6000rpm and it ran normally. Idled just fine and such. When the car is under load, and I miss a shift or something, I might be flooding the ports with gas and the plugs get fouled and can't fire, hence the engine stalls.
