hopefully simple problem
hopefully simple problem
i purchased a used racetronix pump and hotwire kit. I am getting around to install it, i couldndt find instructions on the racetronix website, but it seems pretty straight forward. I have the pump all in and done, i cut that access panel, sure beats dropping the tank for sure.
But the hotwire kit i can figure out the connections.
I have the same one in this pick

the 2 factory style plugs, i dont understand what they plug into. I replace the box connector that carries wiring from the car to the tank, but those other 2 connections, i dont know what to plug them into?
thanks
matt

Re: hopefully simple problem
From another site, it's been a while since I did mine:
"There's wiring coming from the body of the car going to the fuel pump. There's a square plug that goes onto the fuel pump. When you look at the racetronix wiring you'll see the exact same plug along with a female receiver in the same shape. Plug the square wiring from the body into the female end of the racetronix then take the male end of the racetronix (same as from the body) and plug that into your pump."
Hope that is what you were looking for.

Re: hopefully simple problem
Thanks for the reply
but not exactly
That pic is exactly what i have. that white square plug plugs into connector on the underside of the car. That plug removed than goes directly to the fuel pump and sender in the tank, i think. The 2 plugs in the pic that are titled, factory style is what i have nothing to plug into.
I didnt have a connector to fit on the new fuel pump, i dont think either of those connectors would fit fuel pump.
i know i have to be missing something simple.
thanks

Re: hopefully simple problem
This older (2008) LT1 pic does not look like the cable you have http://www.racetronix.com/product/RX.../Dcp_1169a.jpg . Looks something has changed in a few years. Your URL pic says 99-02 LS1 not LT1 ?? . Bottom line you use the gray wire from the old FP relay in the harness to pick the new relay, it then puts +12 higher current directly from the battery 'red out of the relay' and goes to the old gray wire position into the tank to run the pump. You need the purple wire between the harness and the old tank connector to just pass through and go back the fuel gauge. Not complex but does not look like plug and play with the pic you show. Give them a call..

Re: hopefully simple problem
i emailed their support,
via email, he says i am missing some connectors. without the instructions, i assume i am supp to cut off the white plug going to the tank on my car and splice in their new conectors to attach to the plugs they supply.
Does that sound right?
I wish it came with the plug as it does in your pick bob.
thanks
matt
