Has anyone tried this opti

Just found this at Oreillys(http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2780&ppt=C0334) and was wondering if any has tried this opti.It has a life time warranty and is made in the USA.Putting son's 1995 Z-28 back together(head gasket leak) and decided to change the opti.Have a new Ebay special that we bought long ago but am scared to install it

The link indicates its made in "North America".

I've seen two posts reporting failures of the Rich Porter Optis.

Thanks figured it was to good to be true will keep on looking for a GM but they are so dam expensive up here in Canada (3 years ago they wanted 700.00)so I'll see how bad the old one looks and may just put on a MSD cap and rotor.Car has only 55,000 miles on it but had a bit of a high speed miss.

I am running one of these, http://dynaspark.net/, $600US; not many miles yet but so far so good. It took 4 months to get but it is a piece of art. The unit is factory sealed with an extended wiring harness (the harness is hard wired to the opti so when the mix of oil and antifreeze drips onto the opti, it can not get inside.) Plus the instructions say they will rebuild/reseal at any time for $36. Hopefully the third and last opti I buy.

I have not seen a lot about these either pro/con on the forums; heard about it from I guy I met at a car show with a 96 impala SS and he had almost 75,000 miles on it which is about twice what I have gotten out of the opti.

I put one on a friends car back in May this year, still kicking so far. . . I did have to grind down the top lip of the cap so the water pump drive shaft would clear. lol
