Cut wire strap next to coil?

Hi everyone,
I was taking my coil off the other day on my 93 z28, and noticed that someone had cut a wire strap that runs up next to the icm and coil. Where is it supposed to go, and what does it do? The strap is about 1/4 inch or a little more wide, and my 94 has the same strap, it connects to the stud for the coil icm housing. Will it hurt to leave it disconnected? it was cut and I cant tell where it is supposed to go, the wiring is a little different between the two cars it looks like. Thanks everyone

probably the ground strap

sounds like the ground strap that connects between the coil bracket and the bolt/stud to the right of the radiator on the drivers side.

It is best to have that braided ground strap on there. It connects to the chassis, just below the ABS motor.
