Changing Ignition Coil....Change Wire Also?

Going to get a GM ignition coil for my 96 LT1. Wondering if it's recommended to get a new ignition wire as well?

The coil wires are known problems on our cars. Inspect it closely for rust or other corrosion. If it shows corrosion on the opti end then replace it.

Good advice above. Check both ends of the wire, my original stock coil wire failed at the coil end.

i just pulled my coil wire and the whole coil plug was covered with greenish white corrosion. i hadn't pulled it since 2004 when i changed wires. put a yellow Accel coil and new wire and it's 100% better! i had some detonation and loss of upper power but it's all good now finally
