Braided fuel line questions

I plan on upgrading the fuel sysetm very soon.

I have read quite a bit about some of the cheaper braided stainless lines not holding up to fuel well (even though thats what they are designed for). The inner hose gets porous over time and you get a very strong fuel smell from your car and hoses. They will also leak over time.

It looks like the PTFE hoses (teflon lined) will hold up, but have a limited amout of fittings to work with.

The two that I have been contemplating are Earls Pro lite 350 ( http://www.mpsracing.com/products/Earls/pro_Lite350.asp )
and Fragola series 8000 push-lite ( http://www.fragolaperformancesystems...eracehose.html ).

How long have your hoses lasted?
Do you get any gas smells?

I dont wany to do my fuel system now, and in two years have to replace all of the lines, I want to do it right the first time.

I would like to run black hose, but will go with stainless if I can find one that will last

I've used AeroQuip Socketless hose is my modified dual Walbro fuel system. Both -8 an -6an hose. Less cost than the braded SS hose. The socketless fittings are less cost as well. I have used the Socketless hose inside the tank, and, out with good sucess for years. I use -8an alum line where ever I can. The braded hose is expensive, but, works well in vibration-prone areas where accelerated wear can be a problem. B.
