Was wondering what can I do to ascertain whether my mixture is heavy on the fuel side. I love the smell coming out of my tailpipes.....

 

Wait, your tail pipes, or the pipes on the car? Any black smoke (from the CAR)- soot deposits? Are you running catalysts? Rough idle, loading up?

 

I know you are trying to be sarcastic but... please provide better details...

Are you saying you smell unburnt fuel from the tail pipes?
Are you running catalytic converters?
Who tuned your PCM?


You can check the A/F ratio with a wideband O2 sensor and gauge.

 

Soot deposits are a solid roger.
I dont smell unburned fuel, It actually smells good... :P
I have no idea who tuned my PCM MAybe you have some idea where I could get mine tuned?

 

Smell means nothing. My car 'smells rich' when its running properly in closed loop when my cat is off. You're not running a cat, are you?
