Exclamation 97 Camaro, bad fuel pump, interchangable?

Hi there,

I have a 97 camaro rs - 3.8L v6 and the car wont start with first crank so i thought it might be a dirty fuel filter which i changed but nothing has changed. So next i will be replacing the fuel filter. I went to the junk yard and found a 94-95 camaro, so i guess my question is Can i replace the 97 camaro fuel pump with a 94 or 95 fuel pump or its not worth it since its a U-pull, so i have to do all the work myself.

I also found a full module, including the hanger, sender, pump, wiring and everything on ebay for $170. If im cutting a trap door anyways its better to change all at one than to keep buying parts separately.

Any input would be much appreciated.

P.S. anyone knows if the rear stabilizer bars(97 camaro) are interchangeable with that of a 94-95 camaro?

Thanks

All the suspension will interchange they are the same except for the spring v6 and v8 cars have different springs.
Fuel pump sending units and pumps should be the same for the v6 and v8 cars.
I have never done the trap door for the pump I see no reason to cut a big hole in my car and I have pulled the take down 3-4 time's over the years between my 97 and my third gen.
It's simple enough to do take the muffler off pull off your panhard bar and the mount disconnect the bottom of the shock on the passenger side and pull the spring out.
With that you will have enough room to pull the tank down.
Just put the car on jack stands in front of where the lower control arms bolt to.
I got a fuel pump for here and was very happy with it.

The only reason that it died was because I had a bad sending unit that was reading wrong and I ran it low on gas too many time and it got too hot and died.
You can't run a camaro down to E.
it was a good pump never gave me any problems and was quite.
