95 Camaro 3.4 not starting

Hello all I have a 95 Camaro with a 3.4. The other day I was driving and it started to misfire and now it will not start at all. All it will do is crank. I have 40PSI at the fuel rail, I have put in new coils and a new ignition control module and it is getting spark but it will not start. I am at a total loss on this one

Have you scanned it for codes?

Re: 95 Camaro 3.4 not starting

There are a few higher end OBD-1/OBD-2 scanners that will not scan the 4th Gen OBD-1 cars, because they are looking for a 12V pin in the ALDL connector, and there is none. I suspect your 95 may have the 16-pin OBD-2 style connector, just like the 95 V8 models, and may require an adapter plug to connect to the OBD-1 portion of the scanner. Does the scanner indicate that it is "connected"? Has it ever worked on your car?

I have a GM Tech II. When I pulled the history codes only code stored was 0082 which is Ignition Control 3x

DTC 82

You found your problem. The PCM needs the 3X low resolution signal from the 3X crank position sensor, in order to tell the ignition control module when to fire the coils. No signal = no fire.

Only weird thing is that code was stored but when I checked the coils I was getting spark from them

Clear the code, and see if it comes back when you try to crank it.

Ok I replaced the 3X crank sensor and it still just cranks and cranks . It acts like it wants to start but it wont. On the Tech II it shows engine RPM while cranking over.

Did you try clearing the code before buying a new sensor? If it cleared, and didn't reset, it wasn't the problem.
