94z28 fires then stalls

have a 94 z28 that start and run for a few seconds then dies.
Started doing it once in a while, now more frequently. Seems like an ingnition or anti theft
problem. Anyone have any suggestions. Once it starts it stays running and runs great.
Once hot it will restart. I've only had car a few weeks and it's doing it almost all the time
now.

Have you scanned it for codes? Is the "SECURITY" light on?

Thanks Fred. I'll try to borrow a scanner. Yes security light stays on aftwer all other dash lights go out while ingnition key is in the on position after it doesn"t start. Crazy enough, when it randomly strarted a hour later with no security light.

Your vats system is malfunctioning. Either have someone with tuning software disable it, or you possibly need a new key, a new ignition cylinder, or you have an intermittent wiring/controller issue. It is likely the ignition cylinder not maintaining contact with your key "chip". There are other ways to bypass the system, do a search.

Thanks everyone. I found a cobbed up vats wiring connection under steering wheel. 2 small white wires in orange sleeve. Someone use a couple crimp wire connectors and had a bad connection. I soldered them . So far so good.
