94 z28

New here but have been reading a lot of these forums have 94 z28 no spark I no topic is old but after doing test suggested at icm I'm receiving proper voltage at a & d ground and the 1-4 pulse voltage but nothing from coil had icm tested five times to ensure wasn't failing after warming up passed and coil was with tolerance on primary and secondary but no fire from coil any help would be welcomed.

Have you checked the coil wire?

Was trying to check by ohm out but have never tested plug wire other than visual inspection

Are you checking for spark at the end of the coil wire?

Did you use Shoebox's guide when testing the ICM harness connections?

I did everything had 12 volts on a and d pins had my pulse signal on b or c can't remember the pin and pin that's susposed to have 60 ohms to ground with key on has 120 or so ohms but with key off was within tolerance and when tested at Opti harness had good continuity the plug the Opti harness goes to had the 5 volts on 2 pins as it should and had the pulse signal but the ohm pin that should test 50 ohms with key on had 60 or so ohms but was within tolerance with key off so think maybe it has something to do with the 2 pins on the 2 different plugs that have high ohm readings am I right or will the ohm levels vary that much from spec?
I also have the water pump off and intake tube off to have access to Opti will have those off with their sensors unplugged cause no spark? Had no spark before started diagnosis so wasn't sure.

Re: 94 z28

Shoebox’s procedure doesn’t include any tests which produce 60 ohm readings on the Opti harness or the ICM harness. So I'll assume the answer to my question is “no, I didn’t use that procedure.” What procedure did you use - could you provide a reference or a link?

And I really hate to get picky, but without using any punctuation, it’s extremely difficult to understand what you are actually saying. May explain why no one else has jumped in here.

After ignoring the previous procedure I used his and after installing the new optispark it came down to the ICM connector being the problem replace that connector and it's running like a top
