6 miles to the gallon

I have a 1996 camaro with original plugs, plug wires, and cap and rotor all the same too. the ar has 103,000 miles on it. Im getting all that changed, would you guys say that it is making that BIG of a difference in gas mileage?

An out of tune engine can definitely lead to decreased fuel economy. Hard to say if that is the culprit in your issues, but replacing everything is a good way to establish a baseline and go from there. It would probably be a good idea to have the fuel filter and air filter replaced as well if those haven't been done either.

All original?! Wow. I would definitely reccomend changing the fuel filter and air filter also. That is crazy and that is horrible gas mileage. I dont even know if that is even normal for still having all of those parts. I cant believe your opti has lasted that long.

Is that calculated on a full tank till empty? Or did you start halfway? Just making sure, because the tank is "V" shaped, and makes the needle plummet after about the half full mark.
