2002 z28 pass lock/security light flashing

2002 z28 pass lock/security light flashing

Im stuck with no help anywhere but the dealer telling me they can fix it for over a grand.... Um no, ok so i have a 2002 z28, and the yellow security light is flashing, assuming the pass lock enabled, but i dont not know how to reset it or over ride it, i tried disconnecting the negative to reset the computer system but still no luck, please i really need help on this asap

Have you checked the resistor in the key? If the circuit is not completed, you will get a flashing security light.

i tried this bypass thing i found on the internet by using resistors and cutting the vats wire, but still no fix

Do you have more than one key for your car? If so, you may want to measure the resistance in both. Sometimes they will vary and you can be off by a little bit with your resistance "module" and still lock down the VATS.
