Would you buy a used P600B w/high miles?
Someone on here has one for sale for a pretty good deal. Has lots of new parts and a pretty much complete kit, but the head unit has 30K on it. It has the twin intercoolers and two pulley choices. I think he wants 2K for the whole kit but like I said it has new parts and the IC's ...solid intake tube, custom braided lines, etc. Sounds kind of nice and he says the head unit's in great shape.
If I were to buy it should I just have it rebuilt while it's apart just for insurance and upgrades? Are the P600B's prone to leaks like the P1SC's?
I really prefer an S-Trim with an ATI air to air intercooler fabbed up for it ....but there are only so many deals around and this ATI kit is pretty much complete.
Any opinions or suggestions?

It's generally pretty cheap to have the seals replaced. The P600B should use the same type of oil system that the Vortech uses (pressurized engine oil) so I wouldn't expect them to leak like the self contained units do (I could be wrong though).

The good thing about the P600b is that you do not have the issue of leaky seals like the P1SC. I think ATI charges $75.00 to open up and inspect a blower.

Shoot 30k miles is nothing. I bought a used p600b a while back with about 10k miles. I put 50k miles on it myself and then sold it to one of my friends. That was over a year ago and its still running strong. I had ATI inspect it before I sold it($75), they said it was in great shape. Sounds like a pretty good deal for a complete kit, just make sure the FMU and fuel pump are included(a lot of people selling these things seem to forget about those)

I had my P600b inspected and new seals and bearings put in for only about $200. At that time the unit had about 95,000 miles on it with no leaks, that was about a year ago and still no problems or leaks. All in all a P600b is considered to be a smaller unit, but its still makes great power for cars like mine that are street cars and daily drivers(understanding that you want to do all this within a budget of some kind per say).

....lol, isn't it funny how we scoff at 340 flywheel horsepower as if it's nothing. I remember the days not too long ago when I drove a 301 4V Buick Regal and thought it ran pretty strong (150 at the flywheel from the factory, maybe 165 with my little tweaks). Just some perspective ...lol.

actually, why would I get a p600b when I can get a good blower, like a D1 or vortech unit!

What's your take on the noise and tensioner since you've had to live with those things on a daily basis?
