Would 30SVO's with FMU work?

I am going to be running the stock bottom end for a little while.

I am going to probably buy a D1SC with dual intercoolers. I wanted to pulley it down as low as I can get it (For now) in the 6-8PSI range until I have the $$$ to build a all forged, low compression stroker motor.

I dont want to buy injectors now, and then have to buy them again if I dont have too. I already have a set of SVO 30's, which I know WILL NOT be enough for 6-8PSI, however, with the fuel management unit, shouldnt these be alot more reliable than my stockers are? I heard that they work fine under higher pressure and are WAY less likely to lock up. I already have these NIB, so I was going to use them with the FMU and get a Walbro/Bosch 255.

Think this would work as a somewhat reliable get me by set up as far as the fuel system is concerned?

Also, I know that it is a hit and miss thing using boost on a stock bottom end. I have full intentions of building a motor for it. So really, I'm just trying to build the most reliable supercharged set up in the 6-8PSI range as I can without having too buy parts twice.

I used to run SVOs 24lbs. at 8lbs of boost with an FMU so the 30s will work. You will need a tune for the 30s though since the PCM won't be calibrated to work with the larger injectors. SVOs are a good choice since the stock type injectors tend to lock up at higher fuel pressures. Also, the 30s may get you by without an FMU. I did 435 RWHP with an in-line pump booster, no FMU, dyno tune, and SVO 30s. Not the best course to take but it did work. I'd suggest using the Racetronix pump kit now, however. In addition, you might consider a Kenne-Bell Boost-A-Pump instead of an FMU.

Re: Would 30SVO's with FMU work?

Alright thanks ...

I was really just trying to see if I could do it with the injectors I had sitting around. I know I would need to get it tuned for them. Plan on mail order to ball-park me until I work all the bugs out of it and can take it to the dyno.

Also, I didnt want to get a boost-a-pump or anything yet because I didnt know if they would be sufficient for when I build my forced induction stroker. I want to go for at least 600RWHP out of it. So I dont want to buy anything now, that i dont have too, inless I can run it later with that set up.

Thanks though. I appriciate it.

I'm looking to get high 500s, low 600s RWHP with my D1SC. Fuel system is a Racetronix pump with harness, Boost a pump, and 60 lb flow matched Mototrons.

Re: Would 30SVO's with FMU work?

alright thanks.

I think I am going to use my 30's for now, with a FMU ...

And then when I build my motor, Im gonna go with something along the lines of a 255LPH in tanker, with a boost a pump of some sort ( Still undecided ) and probably slightly larger injecters than you have. I may be shooting for a dry shot to get me where I want to be instead of running crazy boost. Then agian, I like my power there all the time, not in a bottle, that will undoubtedly be empty the one time I need it.
