will jet dst tune for boost

just wondering if this program has enough features to compensate for a turbo upgrade..obd2 lt1 or is efi live a better choice?? thanks for any info

The Jet DST (what I use) gives control of pretty much every PCM parameter you need to modify, so you should be able to adjust the necessary settings for running more boost. There are a couple of routes you can go. If you are still running a MAF, you would adjust the MAF calibration table, but you could hit the airflow limit of the MAF. In this case you may need to tune for speed density mode and either adding fuel through power enrichment tables or switching to a 2 or 3 bar setup. Going to a >1 bar setup is not trivial, but has been done successfully by myself and a few others.

thanks ststurboLt1. I was also wondering since you run a turbo setup . my plan is to run an sts setup 7psi +methanol. Is it resonable to expect that the motor will live 7k miles and 5 years before blowing or getting tired if i don't kill it off with my foot. I only drive the car 1200 miles a year and will be building another lt1 to handle the big boost. of course after shelling out the 5Gs it will take me time to build the 8k dollar motor for boost..Are my plans feasable or not? how is yours running? 97 ss lt1 6speed .

It is POSSIBLE that it will last 7k miles, of course I'm not an expert on LT1 reliability, and there are no guarantees. I've been running mine for almost 3 years, (about 20k miles), but have only been to the track 3 times with the turbo installed for maybe 16-18 passes total. I paid for a dyno tune initially, which may be part of the reason it's still running, but I've been doing my own tuning lately. FWIW, I'm in the process of building a forged 383 to replace the current motor, even though it's running fine.

sweet . what kind of #s did you hit with your first dyno tune session and what kind of trap speeds have you pulled? i'm only looking for 400whp with this motor. p.s. although people say that the lt1 isn't a good boosted motor, with the high compression, crap pistons and two bolt mains. its seems to me with reverse cooling system(to heads first) and iron block and easy electric cooling mods that its not to shabby. I THINK I'LL SHOVE SOME BOOST DOWN HER .

My first dyno tune was performed at only 5 psi, and it hit 346 rwhp and around 380 rwtq. The final dyno tune at 7 psi yielded 378 rwhp and 399 rwtq. This is on a completely stock motor, stock exhaust manifolds, stock cam, etc. My highest trap speed was 113 mph.

thanks for the info i will definetely get back to you when i start tuning. I am interested in tuning the obd2 in map mode.i tune my 90 iroc 350 which is speed density and always wondered how my ss would perform off the map(tuned). with a lot more sensors then the old l98 with batch fire. p.s. do you run methanol or a water mix? hoping to sqeeze a little more hp with it and keep her alive.

I don't run methanol or water injection, nor do I have an intercooler. I personally prefer speed density mode, as the throttle response is better, and I don't get the surging and bogging that I had with the MAF. This is the first car I've done any tuning on, so I'm not an expert by any means, but I can probably give you some tips when you get yours running. Feel free to ask anytime.
