Will I lose boost?

Just wondering how much boost i will be losing after they install the Ported/polished heads on, and the MAC headers. I had a 4.5 psi kit before with stock heads and manifolds now i have the 6 psi kit and soild intake tube and larger air filter so will i lose boost and make better hp or will i see the same boost on the gauge or lose boost and gain somewhere else

You may lose pressure due to less restriction, but not volume.

Boost is just a measurement of air backed up in the intake. With P&P heads, you'll SC will be flowing the same amount of air, you'll just be getting more of it into the cylinder... Lower boost reading, more power!

Timbr said it well. The key point is that boost is "resistance to flow". The less resistance, the more flow!!

Ok so does that mean i will lose boost at a faster rate and make more power, or make more power and not see it on the gauge?

You will make more power and not see as much boost as you previously saw on the gauge, assuming you don't change pullies on the SC.

I don't know what you mean by lose boost at a faster rate? when you lift your foot of the pedal, all the boost is gone.

I meant that when adding P/P heads and larger valves will i lose boost on the gauge at a faster rate meaning will it respond better before it kinda felt like it had a lag to it almost like a turbo. But could that have been the the false knock i was getting it was about 9 degrees from begin to end on the dyno.... Plus i was using the 4.5 psi kit then and now i have the 6 psi kit and soild intke tube and a 9 inch k@n element too..
