Will a BOV Lower my IAT's at idle?

Will a BOV Lower my IAT's at idle?
I scanned my IAT's after a long idle with the AC on in my garage with no airflow to the intercooler. The highest it reached was 183F. Will switching to a blowoff valve and a blow thru MAF solve this problem on my procharger?

Re: Will a BOV Lower my IAT's at idle?
Definitally, if you're recirculating the air right now.
I'm using a 2" ,dumped to atmosphere, bov in place of the bypass and a very large intercooler.
My idle air temps are the same as ambient temp outside.
Using the bov instead of the bypass required a little shortening of the spring inside the bov. The stock spring was preloading the diaphgram too much to allow it to dump at idle.

I would say no, it won't affect temps at a idle.

It would seem that if I vented to atmosphere it would cool the IAT's by flowing all that air through the intake track. The best way would be to have an FMIC but I'm not wanting to cut up my car.

The bov dumps the air before the intercooler to keep the ic from becoming heatsoaked.
As for the intercooler mounting, in this pic you can see about half of the intercooler. It's as wide as the turn signals and tucks in behind the headlight assemblies at the top.

That is a huge intercooler. Nice looking too. Thanks for the idea. I didn't think of venting to atmosphere before the intercooler. Everybody elses I've seen dumps close to the MAF and Throttle body. I think your setup might solve my IAT problem at idle.

kinda off subject, but i don't have a innercooler or have ac anymore. but a cheap BOV to buy is from the 1g turbo cars-eclipse,talon,etc.. thats what i use and it sounds cool and works well. www.dsmtrader.com
