im about to get into the turbo scene and was wondering how many was running opti with stock pcm. what kind of power and how much psi should i be able to run? i know it will have to be tuned, bigger injectors, bigger pump, fmu! is that it? i want about 700 rwhp, is it possible?

My stock ECM and opti are holding up just fine at 680 rwhp with an auto and loose converter. I'm using 84 lb/hr injectors and the Acceleronics impedence converter, dual 255 lph intank pumps, stock fuel lines and rails, no FMU. I've gone as high as 21 psi with no problems.

im goin with the 60 lph high impedence injectors, but what inline fuel pump should i get thats resonably priced? so i dont have to have a fmu? it tuned ok?

Most go with dual intank 255's. Mine tuned just fine, but you have to stick with one boost level. The MAF won't read anything beyond 500 rwhp, so you have to heavily modify the PE tables. So, if you raise the boost and go from 500 to 700 rwhp, you have the same amount of fuel and "boom".

Re: who is using stock pcm and opti with turbo?

The guy who is going to tune my car tuned several high HP turbo LT1s using the stock PCM and a 2-bar map sensor instead of the stock one (speed density and scaled tables). He said there's no problem in adjusting the boost on-the-fly as long as the PCM sees boost.

We're going to make several runs at different boost levels to get the tables just perfect to be able to adjust on the fly, but he assures me it'll work great. I think I'm going to order the e-boost2 for adjusting on the fly.

Hmm, if you don't mind me asking, who is tuning your car?
