Where to get 2 or 3 bar MAP Sensor
Where to get 2 or 3 bar MAP Sensor
I'm instaling my water/methanol injection and it says to use an aftermarket 2 or 3 bar MAP sensor.
Anyone know where I can order one from?
Thanks in advance

Anyplace tha sells GM parts can get them, though I would have to root around for the PN's. However, you can't just plug one in and run. Extenisive retuning of the PCM would be needed for proper part throttle operation.

I want my injection system coming on only under boost, not based on rpm. With the 9 lb pulley the S/C spools up fast and I'm putting out 5 lb at 3500-4000 rpm at less than WOT.
Do you think I can hook up my activation wire to the extra fuel pump that kicks in when the FMU reads enough boost to turn it on?
That sounds like it might work well.
Any opinions?

pretty good price there. most places regardless of sensor brand will be wanting $60-$100 for a 3 bar MAP, usually around $70
any of your local auto parts stores can order you a 3 bar MAP. just tell them you need a MAP sensor for a 89 TransAM with the turbo 3.8

You can get a 2 bar from alkycontrol.com for $50.00
The fuel pump activation setup sounds like it could be a good idea though - just find out at what psi the pump is currently being activated. Also check the activation wiring for the system you're installing - if it's only 5v capacity, you may need to run a resistor so you don't fry the injection system controller - check with the manufacturer of the methanol/water injection system 1st.

Re: Where to get 2 or 3 bar MAP Sensor
Actually I have the 3 module alkycontrol controller setup.
It came with a kit I got from another board member that included a redone stock windshield washer bottle with a fitting at the bottom and a low level light sender.
It hooks up to the green wire on the MAP according to the instructions.
Are you using the alkycontrol unit and a 2 bar MAP with your injection system speedmizer?

Yep, I'm using the Alkycontrol progressive setup with a 2 bar sensor. Stock activation is the green MAP wire (although it was the orange MAP wire on my Accel DFI wiring)
