where can i get pistons to handle 20+lbs of boost!

Ok i cant find em anywhere. anyone got any suggestions on pistons to use? im doing a 383 stroker. Eagle crank, and lunati billet rods. I have a pt88 turbo that i plan on pushing to at a most 24lbs. anyone have any experiences with any good pistons or know where to get them?(so far my only choice was ross custom for 1100+)

Several people use JE pistons at high boost levels.

No. I believe JE has several off the shelf blower pistons (may be labeled SRP actually, but still JE). I think they are called extreme duty blower pistons

Yeah i just talked to JE..since im using stock fully ported heads(for this motor) they said id need a custom piston with about a -37cc dish to get my desired compression ratio. Does anyone know that actual CCs of the LT1 head?anyways..they quoted me around 1,000$ for the pistons.

Well, with what you want to do, I think the stock heads are one big compromise for you. At the power levels you'll be reaching, I think you might want to consider AFR heads, for a few reasons. First, you can get a chamber size up to 76cc, so you could at that point easily get an off the shelf piston to get the desired compression. Second, they have the thick deck that the stock head does not. This would be very nice to have with such high cylinder pressures. Lastly, you can get some damn big ports on those heads, so your power potential would be greater.

yeah i know that..but i could still get over 800rw with ported Lt1's...and also..im afraid of making too much power to where the block cant handle it. ..lol..i never thought id say too much hp

No off the shelf piston that I am aware of will do what you want. You could install them "down in the hole" to lower the CR. Ross, for one, recommends this for blower cars. However, the "conventional wisdom" regarding quench height would be thrown out the window with that approach. I wouldn't want to be the one to experiment with it.

you could also in large the combustion chamber in the heads.

Have you called Diamond? I see Diamond, JE, Ross, and Venolia when I walk around the pits.

im gonna see how much i can get bare trickflow heads for..they have 62CCchambers so i could do with less of a dish on the piston...now i need to find em.

Seems like I read in a recent GMHTP article that More Performance is using a German piston...Mahle, I believe. Comes factory with thermal coating. Whether or not you choose to give More a call, you might want to check into getting your nice new custom pistons coated to help them last longer.
