Exclamation Whats your EGT?

Most of the time when Im just driving around my EGT is around 800 deg. F..........under boost it will rise to around the 1200 to 1400 deg. F range.......

Is that to high???...

The car seems to run well and it still runs a little fat.

OK, I'll chime in, BUT, I haven't put one on my 00 Turbo SS. Then, why am I commenting?

I ran one in two Talons I built. One ran 22 lbs on the pump, the other 18 lbs.

These cars have HE pistons, like ours. I ran around town at around 1100-1250, and it was FAT at PT. On the highway, I was running 1350-1450. At WOT, shoot for 15-1550 at the end of the quarter, and of course watch for KR. That'll keep you safe.

If you're forged you can run to 1600. You'll get great top end and a clean burn, but you're running closer to the line where detonation can set in, so watch your KR even closer.

I never burnt a piston on these numbers, and it was told to me by a well respected DSM racer. I used his advice to program my PMS to 11.50s passes.

Hope this helps,

SC-

PS - 800 is PIG rich. Are you sure you don't have a celsius-based meter? Otherwise I would think gasoline would be pouring out of your tail pipes. Convert the above the celsius if that is the case.

I'm at Mopac and Slaughter....way down south. Yea I've been to Fud's a couple of times. Most of the time I go up north on Sat. nights.

I'll try and make it Wed. night. Look for a black z with draglites.
