What's the fastest 8# car is the country worth?

I am thinking of selling my car and moving into a Z06 so I am throwing this out there. AFAIK no one is running quicker or faster in the country on 8# boost. Here is the setup I am curious what the car is worth:

94 Z28, Red with flame red cloth interior, MMS 355 with stock heads(cleaned up on rebuild), Ross pistons 9.1:1 CR, 215/224 114 LSA cam, 1.6 valvetrain, Hooker LTs into Mufflex Y pipe and 3" Flowmaster exhaust with cutout, I also have a 4" bullet that can be installed after the 4" collector in the Ypipe. Converter is a Vig 2800 and there is a TransGo HD shiftkit. Gears are 3.42s. For suspension I have Hal/QA1s all around and a RR airbag. Blower is a 8# P600B ATI procharger with custom FMIC and hard 4" intake pipe attached to a large KN filter. Tuning is all done with LT1 Edit and there is a Crane HI-6R for street driving. For safety I have a Wolfe 6 pt and 5 pt harness. I am sure there is a few other things that I didn't mention but this car runs awesome and is very streetable and docile until you get on it. I passed CA TEST only smog with smog legal headers also.

You won't find a faster car for what I have into this one. TO date the fastest time is a 10.87 @ 127.5(1/8th was 6.9@102) with a 1.54 60'. Last dyno with Mac shorties made 477 rwhp and 550 rwtq so it should be around 500 rwhp with the long tube and better exhaust. I know these type of cars are hard to sell so can tou guys give me an idea of what I can get for the car?

It's hard to say without mentioning condition(visual) or mileage...

Obviously the it's only worth what an individual is willing to pay...that said, if I came across a car such as your's with avg. mileage for a 94 (80-100k) with a slightly above average int. and ext. then $10k, 12k max sounds like what I would be willing to pay.

Add more for perfect paint, lower miles, spotless interior, any additional mods that might actually fetch a premium (wheels, hi power stereo, etc...)

Subtract for higher mileage, problems, cosmetic blemishes, y'know

Guy's who have bought and sold blown/heavily modded cars might say otherwise; this is just what I would think if I were to see your car in AutoTrader or whatever

Just as a reference, I purchased in August a 30th anniversary SS, with a fresh rebuild (1K miles on motor) with similar specs to your motor (stock heads, SRP pistons, cam, etc.) also with the 8# ATI procharger. This is a limited edition car with a 6 speed, 32K miles, very good condition with a 2000 dollar stereo system plus many other extras, I got this car locally in VA for 15K.

FWIW it has 78K original miles and this motor has 15K street driven miles and maybe 40-50 passes at the track(have to look back). The car is spotless and in great condition.

If anyone is interested in this car drop me an email and we can talk about price depending on how much of the stuff(laptop, wheels etc) I leave on the car.

I wouldn't advertise it as the fastest car on 8lbs, cause it ain't true local BBC guy made like 1200 hp on 6lbs.

Yeah I realize that and am not that naive but since this forum is discussing 4th gen Fbodies then I didn't put prequalifiers on it. Do you post on Mustang sites answering there exhaust questions with a reply about your Fbody?

If you are familiar with a 4th gen setup running 8# with an LT1 block faster than I am(especially with stock heads) I would be interested in talking to them.

actually this was a FBODY, just not a 4th gen.

sounds like the silly ls1 boys "I have the fastest stock manifold, white paint with 17" wheels with red calipers; car in the world!"

hehehe :-P

just playin man. your car is no doubt quick, good luck sellin it. as long as you expect about 40% of what you have in mods, you will prolly be able to get rid of it.

I understand where you are coming from and I stay away from the "title" game that goes on over at those forums but needed something to get ppl to look at this thread. I am not expecting much for the car just looking to sell it for a fair price. This car has a lot of potential and runs great now but I don't want to put the extra money into it to make it run 9s.

Hello SCZ28, I would like more info on your combo if you dont mind sharing. I am also in CA and I am putting my wifes 383 together with the same procharger. I want to keep it smog legal so cam selection is key. You did not mention the lift.

...how did he manage 477 at the wheels with merely 8 PSI going through stock heads and an A4? Just doesn't seem possible but you never know.

I have only a 355 and am running the comp cams 224/236 blower grind, 525/555 lift on 114 lsa. This cam kicks *** as far as I'm concerned. It would be good in a 383 too. Supposedly it passes and I am pretty confident it will, won't know for sure until middle of '06 when it needs to be smogged again. I did pass easily with the hotcam.

Not that my car makes ungodly power and also taking into consideration the fact that he had an auto, but 477 is only 21 more hp than I have. And he has a cam. 477 definately seems doable with his setup. Torque is really nice.

Ed, For what it's worth I also have a similar custom blower grind to yours in my 385, 228/236 510/525 113 lsa . I also am very happy with this grind and I just did pass smog in CA, But had to lock my blm's at idle so my AFR was 17.5:1 at idle
