Just curious as to of the type/brand of plug wires people are using with their forced induction cars? I currently have the MSD 8.5 mm wires, but they are a little worn, and was considering changing the wires before the blower goes in.

 

I just switched from the MSD 8.5's to the OTVC kit with Taylor wires. So far I like them - they can easily be routed away from the headers.

My MSD's were great too - but clearly the routing is better with the OTVC kit.

 

I am probably an idiot here but what does OTVC stand for?

As figured earlier, yeah I am an idiot. Thanks. Those look pretty sweet. Do you know will they fit on the LT4 style valve covers? Where can I find the MSD OTVC wires and how much will they cost? I have seen the Taylors OTVC go for about $115.

 

im usng the taylor otvc wire setup..im loving it so far no burnt up wire from the headers no more

 

Not to hijack the thread but Darkhorse, how did you route the passenger side wires? I have a set of the Taylors coming in Monday and was trying to see if there was a better way to route the passenger side wires instead of going behind the powersteering pump and up in front of the big *** aluminum bracket for the PS and AC pumps. I came up with a couple different ways but was just curious to how someone else tried doing it. Thanks

I went behind the PS pump - tight fit but they made it. Was tougher routing around the SC head unit.

 

I'm using Accel 8.8 300+. The delteq radiator mount runs the wires up under the headers through the engine mounts.

 

I have used a few sets of the MSD wires after trying a few others, I am very happy with MSDs. I espically like the click that lets you know that they are properly seated.

 

Thanks for all the info. I just ordered a set of OTVC Taylors from Thunder Racing. If anyone has any more pics of thier set up that would also be helpfull. More replies welcomed.

 

Another vote for Accel 8.8mm 300+ Race Wires.

 

Another vote for the Taylors. They were kind of a pain because I crimped on the Opti boots after routing the wires, but still easier than the stock wire routing I figure. Plus they looks pretty cool and I haven't had any get torched by header primaries.

 

Accel Extreme 9000s run through stock location. No more need for the aluminum heat shields on the boots.

 

i know someone that sells spark plug wire sleeves. good up to 1200 degrees. many colors pm if interested. they have heat wrap too
