What is your set up (turbo guys)

I would like to know you engine, internal, heads, cams, turbo, intercooler, dyno #'s, 1/4 mile times, anything you think would help me in planning my set up. I want 10's and I have to be emissions legal.

Engine- 357ci, Diamond billet caps, eagle forged crank and rods, Diamond pistons, Hellfire rings. 214/222 114 Cam Motion grind, AFR LT4 heads (215cc intake port volume), ported LT4 intake.

Speed pro engine management, 83lb injectors, dual intank 255 walbros, stock lines after the filter.

The car is a 6-speed with 3.42 gears, has a full interior, A/C, 6 pt bar, t-tops, leather, and rolls on the original 17's. 3,800lb raceweight.

Turbo system was built by myself, main components being an Innovative GT80BB turbo, Innovative indy gate wastegate, Innovative multi stage boost controller, procharger sheetmetal intercooler. 1 5/8 unequal length individual tube manifolds, 2.5 crossover, 3.5 downpipe and exhaust.

Dynoed 689rwhp and 701rwtq @18psi.

A few runs at the track on the 17's and 3,800lbs are-

60ft 2.17

1/4 11.5

1/4 mph 133.24

60ft 2.017

1/4 11.3

1/4 mph 131.88

(tried shifting into 5th because 4th is over before the traps)

My car is not emissions legal because all of the emissions devices are gone, and it also it's obd2 with aftermarket engine management.

Here are some pics-

Did you emissions stuff come off because of the turbo install or just what you wanted to do?

It would be possible to reinstall all of the emissions system, but even then it would still fail because of the aftermarket engine management.

In order to stay completely emissions legal you need to keep the stock ECU.

Jim is right about the ECM and emissions legal portion.

If you want to do it, and remain emissions legal, its going to take a bit more work with a chip burner (since you have a 93) to make it happen.

My setup:
406ci
eagle 4340 crank and 6" rods
AFR190 unported heads
232/228 hyd roller camshaft
PT88 small housing turbocharger
2 core custom water intercooler

I have no dyno figures except for one that made 512rwhp @ 5psi and the intercooler tubing blowing off @ 4800rpms. LOL I havent had it back on a dyno since then either.

I have one good pass on it at the track with 5psi of boost it ran 10.95 @ 126mph. I expect a LOT more when I turn up the boost. Currently having some problems from TRYING to turn up the boost. Replacing head gaskets right now.

Good luck!

I don't think emissions in AZ checks if you ECU is stock or not. All I have had to do is go thru the sniffer. I would like to keep the AIR and EGR tubes because they check for them sometimes.

AIR is not emissions, why would they check it?

The AIR system is technically part of the emissions equipment, so if they check to see if it's there, which they probably won't, it needs to be there.

it is?

why?.........my understanding is it doesnt have anything to do with emissions, it just reroutes warm air into the intake to help the car start in cold conditions.

If you ever followed the AIR tubes you would see that it doesn't blow air anywhere into the intake. It does take a suction from the stock airbox and then blows air into the exhaust manifolds. This extra oxygen gets the catalyst in the Cat converter hot really fast so it can start doing its job scrubbing the exhaust. The AIR system is only on right after you start the car. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

I would like to know you engine, internal, heads,
347 ci destroked motor. 15* weld tech prepped heads, mid weight internals.
cams, (i missed this question :P)
Twin garrett Limit Engineering prepped turbos (t-66's)
intercooler,
Twin spearco air-water intercoolers.
dyno #'s, Taaaa daaaa soon still lil things to do dang too many lil things
1/4 mile times, Again to be soon

tens shouldn's be that hard if you have suspension there If you have a 4000 lb convertible you are going to need more car to push ya down the track. I know there is some guys fighting for 10's with 700+rwhp lol...

I want 10's and I have to be emissions legal.
Not gonna happen with a turbo system none are carb approved Might want to take a look at a blower that is carb approved.
