What lifters and rockers for 6500+rpms

What lifters and rockers should I go with? I plan on sinning this 6500+rpms just don't want something that would fall apart and take out my motor... What are you guys using and what kind of luck have you had?

Lifters = The Delco LS7 Lifters are what people are recommending these days. I just bought a set for my LT1.

Rockers = I have tried LT4 1.6 ratios(Really Crane Golds), the CompCams ProMags(1.6 ratio, 7/16 stud), the Scorpion 1.7 ratio 7/16 rockers, the CompCams Ultra ProMags 1.6 ratio 7/16 stud and will now be running a mix of the Ultras with some Jegs .150 offset rockers using 1.6 ratio and 7/16 studs(I have offset Intake valves in my heads).

The Scorpions can be had in a variety of ratios, stud diameters, Self Aligning, Non-self aligning(you'll need guideplates for these, perhaps hardened pushrods too), are American made (if that matters to you), in both narrow body and wide body fulcrum designs. They are relatively inexpensive and have a very friendly staff.

What cam/springs are you running in your application? If you go with titanium retainers, be sure to check the clearance between the underside of whatever rocker you choose with the top of the retainer. I failed to do this and it chewed up the underside of my LT4 Rockers and, my machinist told me, almost caused it to drop a valve. The underside of the rocker would hit the retainer first, not the valve stem, causing the valve to push outwards/sideways before the lift would get to a point where the tip of the rocker would descend enough to contact the valve stem. Bad stuff!

Good luck with your build!

Do you know what the spring diameters are? The spring diameters of 1.5xx" are when things get really close(between the spring coils and the rocker body) If they are smaller then you should be good with almost any of the rockers out there. Do the TFS heads come with guide plates installed? Are the intake valves 'offset' (like my Canfields which are offset .150")? What I'm getting at with those last two is your ability to use Self Aligning Rocker arms versus Non-Self aligning rockers.

At least it didn't bug you all day and wake you up in the middle of the night.

I replaced a set of Comp lifters with some Morels. Worth every penny. Still using the Comp rocker arms though.

Oh? What was going on with the Comp lifters? I just took mine out, threw them in the trash and installed a new set of the GM LS7 lifters last weekend but haven't started the car yet. Hopefully on Sat. Mine (comps) seemed to be noisy and perhaps some other issues(such as a collapsed lifter or 2?) Are the Morels nice and (comparatively) quiet?

Stock lifters here. I put a low mile set in everytime I have it apart. Other than crushing one while adjusting the rockers while running - no problems from them between two lt1s both running higher than 6500.

This setup I probably won't spin any higher than that. Stockers again.

You need to check the spring pressure if they are set up from TFS.

Jon,
Why is that? Do they underspring or overspring them on occasion?

Underspring... I don't recall the specs, but I think they are setup with 120# seat pressure. You want to be around 150-160# for boost.

Aye - Just went to some beehives. Shimmed .030 and put me around 160 on the seat and 360ish open.

While I was waiting for a submitted job to finish in batch, I went out and finished hooking up everything (I took out my CC OEm style Hyd Roller lifters and put in new GM LS7 lifters) and started her up.
Music to my ears! Whereas before, with the CC's it sound clattered like a solid roller cam with excessive lash and ran rough, it now purrs like a sewing machine and is sooo very smooth at idle. I won't get to drive it till I put the serpentine belt back on and get some time away from this keyboard but it sure sounds promising
