i use nothing but Shell Rotella 15w40 Multigrade.

its mostly used by big turbo diesel mack trucks (if it can stand up to that abuse, its fine for my car!). it was also recommended by turbo engineers at KKK and garrett.

I use this in all diesel trucks, but there is hella detergent in diesel oil, because of the hudge build up from a dirty runing motor. I would not use Rotella unless you want to clean a internaly dirty engine. The break down rate is much less but i would never use it in my car for over a hour. Pull the dip stick when you put that in a semi dirty engine and the oil will turns black in one day. Its not made for a gas engine. The only time i use this is on high milage trucks that need a little cleaning. How long have you been runing it?

Im using Mob synthetic and like heavy oil in summer time(south florida)! I change it every 1000 miles anyway kind of **** about oil.

EDIT: Ahh yes your from Florida too.

hmm...........ive been running it about 9 months now (put on 17000 in that time). my car doesnt burn/leak one drop, my oil pressure is always perfect, and it runs like a clock. i change oil and filter every 2500 or so.

it says that its full compatible with all regular gas engines........but you dont think its a good idea?

Well I just dont think its a good idea, but you have had no problems in 9months so..... In diesel grade oil the viscosity break down is not the same as gas oil. One other thing to think about is the RPMs a diesel motor runs at(600-3000 MAX), and they hold 16crts of oil. Like i said before its great oil and the only oil i would put in a Cummings/Powerstroke not a race engine.

thanks for the input..............i guess ill have to take a look at other oils.

btw, i ran this oil on my previous car, a 3000gt twin turbo, and it solved my problem of "ticking" lifters. but i didnt keep the car long-term, so im not sure how it held up.
