What Kind Of Couplings Are You Using On Your Blower?

I'm going to change all of the couplings and picked up a black silicone one at Pep Boys and installed it tonight. It is Spectre brand. It's ok, but I need it to be a little bit tighter where the supercharger piping connects to the throttle body. I went with a 3 1/2" - 4" coupling. The band clamps keep it tight, but only time will tell when I boost it. Maybe I'll attempt to squeeze a "straight" 3 1/2" band instead.

Any suggestions on places (on the web) that supply these things? I'm not sure if I want to get more of them from Pep Boys or not. I'd like some custom-looking ones, if that's not asking too much.

Gates 24248 for the straight 3" hoses. I like the gates because it has an OEM look. 25psi working pressure. I bought the 2 ply hose but for a little more money you can get the four ply stuff. Here is a link but it can be found at NAPA. Its about $20 a foot.

Thanks, another good suggestion. I need something that's not going to pop off when I put the 6psi / 100 shot through it. The gates material looks similar to what I had on there. I just want to clean everything up cuz it's starting to get dirty looking after being on there for 8 years now.

Usually the reason why hoses blow off is due to the clamps. If you use T-bolt or the expensive constant tension clamps, you won't have a problem. If you use worm-gear hose clamps, expect it to blow off.

I've heard of some people who weld a bead on the throttle body to prevent the hose from blowing off. My holley 58mm throttle body came with a recessed area to prevent hoses from popping off.

hightempsilicone is another place. Always use T-bolt clamps.

That's my only fear... My TB is a 52mm Edelbrock variety and it's smooth. I never had any problems with 6-7psi, but I'm not so sure it'll hold up with 3 times that... We'll see!

>just put some sheetmetal screws in it...
I may end up buying the NOS/Holley 58mm especially if it does have the "lip" aroung the mouth of it.

Does that have the passages built in for Nitrous? I was wondering why it was so expensive. Tbyrne has a good deal on Holley TB's.
