i just installed a votech v-1 what guages should i get to monitor my cars engine

aslo how do you know if your getting detanation?

 

People will argue about the need of a fuel pressure guage, bit I like to monitor the pressure with forced induction. A boost guage is also nice. You may choose tyo replace your stock gauges for more reliable/accurate aftermarket gauges depending on your budget. A relatively inexpensive way to monitor your PCM for many parameters including a knock signal and timing retard is using a Scanmaster tool.

 

A trans temp gauge wouldn't be a bad idea for an auto car.

 

Like the above said, you being an auto, I would have a trans temp guage,fuel pressur guage and a boost guage. Scan master works wonder as well.

 

I have a Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure, abd Boost gauge. My car is also a M6 but if I had a A4 I would get a tranny temp gauge. You may also want to think of getting a EGT gauge as well. Thats my next one as soon as I figure out where I can put another gauge.
