2. Trick Flow Heads 195/76/62cc $1295 *Ported $400 *Valve job $200
3. Ported Stock Intake $100
4. Convert to 4 bolt main and bore it etc--- $1000
5. Comp Cam 224/236 114lsa $225
6. Comp R Lifters $220
7. Comp Hi-tech pushrods $109

9. 57lbs Lucas/se injectors $65ea
10. Racetronics Fuel pump and wire harness assembly. $225
11. Ati Twin Flow intercoolers and pulley for P-1sc $1480
12. Updated program form PCMFORLESS.COM

I am looking for 550hp 12psi 93 octane?????????
Compression Ratio is 8.93-1 using this setup// 20dished pistons, heads worked out to 67cc ,1074 felpro gaskets and blocked decked to .015.

What do you guys think of this setup is the cost to high

dayum!

my setup:

1. SRP pistons (-31cc dish) $509
1.2. Eagle 4340 383 crank $419
1.3. Scat 4340 Rods with ARP bolts 240
2. stock heads (with FI i dont mind, plus no moe money ) $0
3. Stock intake: $0
4. LT4 (already a 4 bolt) block i bought $200
4.5. machining (clean block, bore/hone, etc) $195
5. comp cam i got (forgot grind, too lazy to look lol) $250
6.stock lifters $0
7. 95 hardened pushrods $0
8.Comp cam RRs (bought them a while ago, already in the car) so 0$
9. 42 racetronix injectors (alerady in forgot the price, something like 300 tho) $0
10. fuel pump (not sure what yet) ~$250
11. custom FMIC and piping $500
12. my own tune and LT1_edit $550

i'm looking at 8.5 compression and 15psi with methanol and FMIC with a turbo, so figure 600+ with race gas i'll be 20psi so around 750hp?

i'm taking my time with my build, building as i feel like it should be done by new year

Please don't spend all that money and settle for a mail order tune. Get it tuned on a dyno with wideband O2.
Everything else looks fine for your goals.
How bout double roller timing chain, electric water pump, Keyed crank hub/aftermarket balancer?

IMO you are better off going with a nice front mount intercooler. Also I would recommend a dyno-tune over a mail order tune.

The short block cost me 2300.00 Forged diamond pistons, eagle rods and crank, 4 bolt splayed callies etc... lets just say APE took a little bit longer than they should of and gave me a lil suprise when I was expecting a 355 to be sent to my house.... Now thats how a shop takes care of their customer

Re: What did a 383 cost U guys$$$$$

There is a huge range depending on the parts selected, and the amount (and quality) of the machine work done. There is also a lot of $$$ in gaskets and accessories that some people include in the price and others do not. In any case, the parts you list seem fine except for the TF heads. I don't know anything about them, so I can't comment one way or another.

FWIW, it would cost ~$15,000 to reproduce my motor from oil pan to valve covers.

Lunati is a very good choice, but you should look at Callies too. Either of those is better than those overseas cranks/rods, and it shows in the price. How about some oliver rods? Just kidding.

Choose a good machine shop, don't assume they know what they are doing, check em out.

Any way you go with a blown 383, it won't be a budget motor.

Re: What did a 383 cost U guys$$$$$

i think i got some sweet deals

for now it will just be n/a, but once i get used to the power, ill replace the pistons with some low compression ones, a turbo cam and the PTK turbo kit.

A Callies Dragonslayer crank and Lunati "Pro-Mod" rods are not much more $$$ than the Chinese stuff and are a lot nicer, IMHO.

Re: What did a 383 cost U guys$$$$$

Lets see if I can remember some stuff...

Eagle comp. rotating assembly $1700
4340 Eagle Crank, H beam rods, JE pistons, rings, bearings, etc...

Dart Pro 1 215 heads $740

Oliver main caps and stud kit $340

Holley Stealth Ram and rails $500

I've got pretty much everything I need to finish the motor, but I don't want to build it and have it sit in the truck for months while I finish the rest of the drive train, so it's all sitting in boxes in my garage.
