I've read through a lot of the cam selection threads in this forum and come up with the cam I think I want to run. Just wanted to get some thoughts.
engine specs:
355 LT1 - forged internals.
9.5:1 compression ratio with 58cc chambers.
heads are being gasket-matched, polished, bowl work, and combustion chamber clean-up/material removal (hoping to get down to 9:1).
10psi non-intercooled supercharger.
long-tube headers, x-pipe, dumps.
From the different posts, and based on cost (this won't be an expensive "custom grind" since speed demon carries them) I've pretty much been talked into this:
CC-3190-8-3192-8-R14+4
266/276 adv
214/224 at .050
.565"/.567" lift with a split set of 1.6/1.5 rockers.
114 LSA, 4 deg adv.
Now here's my questions. Is this a good selection? If not, what do you suggest?
I only have 1.6:1 roller rockers now. Is there a cam similar to this (cost effective) that would save me from having to buy a half set of 1.5:1 rockers?

It's a great blower cam. I suggest 2 degrees of advance or straight up though. If you have the springs for it, leave the 1.6's on the exhaust. If not you could get the lower lift 224 lobe (don't have the pn in front of me, but can get it for you if you want).Originally posted by slow96pos

The springs are good for .600 lift, which is right on the edge. They would probably take it, but it would definitely shorten the life of the springs. Also, it sounds like your suggestion is going more towards a custom shaft than an on-the-shelf variety. Just trying to save costs, but get the most out of the motor that I can...
The other I was looking at was straight up, a little more duration, but a little less lift:

I went w/ the comp cams 224/236 w/ a 114 LSA. It is a very streetable cam and seems like people are making pretty good power w/ it. I will be on a dyno in about a week so I will post my results.

A "custom" should not cost more than a few dollars more. They are not true custom grinds, just selected from the lobe library. Usually shipped within a few days of ordering.
