Hi guys, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my motor. its a 383 eagle forged dished pistons, all the bolt ons, mono blade TB, 9.5 to 1 compression, 205 total engine airflow heads. i run 15 psi with the f1a with a FMIC. I had all the same stuff before but stock heads.. It made 633 rwhp with the COMP Cams 07-468-8. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-07-468-8/



I'm now putting the good heads on. I was told my cam is to big. I drive it on the street very little... and when i do its mostly hwy and then street racing... Loyed E. sand this:

The fast acting lobes like the XFI are a lil too quick for this and will have valve float problems under boost unless running a lot more pressure. I would use a 224/236 .560/.571 114 LSA cam.


I told total engine airflow what cam i had and told them i was going to reuse it. they compensated for the boost on the valves and set them at 175psi...

that is the same cam that LE suggested to me for my 383 P1 build..

 

what heads and boost you run, and what power did it make?

 

using AFR 210 heads and planing max 12 psi, no numbers yet as i am still planing out the build but talking to LE my goal is between 550-600 rwhp

 

no one else has a cam in there car with a blower?? lol!!

 

97ss 383ci forged with ATI D1 MM6 with lots of mods. Also run 9.5:1 static comp. AFR 190 heads. Similar cam (cam motion brand) but with 231/ 240 duration and a bit more lift. Took me a while to tune the PCM but running very good on the street and highway.

Moved the rad and run Evans NPG cooling media, and, an external vac pump on the crank case. Helped alot with seals and ring seal/ power.

I run a ai custom grind in my 383 9.5:1 f1a 4inch pulley... similar numbers to the came posted.
