Unhappy Water pump problem - Vortech Aftercooler

I went to start my car yesterday and my water pump for my aftercooler is extremely loud. I figure the pump is gone, should I buy a Vortech replacement or go somewhere else?

Thanks!

Randy

I've heard of people upgrading to a Shur-Flo water pump. You can get them at RV/Camper stores. They flow more than the Vortech pump.

My friend replaced his with a Walmart "Special" bait pump for $20...he's been happy with it.

Are you sure you don't have an air pocket in the system?

When I had that setup it was a bitch to get it bled.

Make sure the inlet of the pump is gravity fed from the resivoir and that the hose doesn't drop below the inlet of the pump.

That may require you to unmount the pump to temporarily make it the lowest part of the system.
