WATER injection nozzle size?

What size nozzle/injector would be appropriate for 10 psi on a 355 with a cc305 cam and NO intercooler. How many gph should I be looking for with a 150 psi pump?

Aren't you glad I didn't call it alky injection Rich?

Well, I was waiting for someone more knowledgeable to answer, but I'll try to at least get you started. Here is a good article on water injection:

http://www.aquamist.co.uk/info/docum...rinjection.htm

In there, they state that you usually use 10 to 15% water to fuel for street applications and up to 25% for aggressive street or race uses. Fuel injectors are usually sized by pounds per hour, so going on the fact that gas weighs 5.8 to 6.5 pounds per gal you would need to know your approximate duty cycle of your injectors at WOT and then figure how much fuel you are using. Then figure 10 to 15% or whatever % of water/meth solution you want to spray and calculate the size of nozzle you need. Or you could just ask the people you bought the kit from and they might be able to save you a lot of trouble.

I bought my kit from Kenndy's Dynotune and then for kicks did all the above calculations. They had me right on the money for spraying a 25% water/meth to fuel ratio.

I also found this in my files--I have not done this type of tuning so I don't know how good this is but I will throw it out there for you to look at. I am assuming that this is tuning with a variable controller, which I don't have.

Stage 1 Tuning Tips
- Begin tuning with the onset pressure at the lowest setting (adjust the pressure switch all the way counterclockwise).
- Continue tuning at 1/2 turn (clockwise) intervals until no hesitation/misfiring occurs at injection onset and a steady flow of power is
felt (usually about 3000-4000 RPM).
- Increase base timing in 2 degree increments until the first hint of detonation - then back off 2 degrees (use 3rd gear pulls from
2000RPM).
- The kit enables the use of increased timing which provides for over 50% of the potential power increase( denser intake charge the
remainder). All other factors being the same, if base timing is not increased over the non-Boost Cooler® settings, power increase
will be less.
- After tuning, ensure that reservoir has adequate fluid at all times. It is recomended that reservoir always be at least 1/4 full.

When dialing in your AFR you always reference a stoichiometric value of 14.7 for gasoline. You target AFR before injecting any water/methanol needs to be between 12.0-12.5:1. Once you start to inject a 50/50 mix of water/methanol you need to adjust your flow rate until you achieve a .5 drop in your AFR. So, if you start out at 12.5:1 before injecting, you know you've got the correct injection amount when you AFR changes to 12.0:1.

Hope this helps. There are varying opinions on the final AFR so maybe someone else will chime in.

Thanks for the input. I will call the supplier, but I like to know who what why and when as well, ya know. My plans have since changed from when I bought the kit and now Im moving up to a bigger charger with more boost so Im wondering if Ill need a bigger nozzle. Going from a planned 10 psi to probably 15 psi.

Maybe get a second nozzle instead of one big one.
