Vortech Exchange Run Around

Well Vortech is trying to pull something. I have a V1 I wanted to send to Vortech for the V2 exchange program. Their offer is $1000 credit off retail price for a V2 unit as long as the V1 works well and has no real defects, or at least that's what their on-line statement claims. Problem is, when you actually try to do this they then say only $750 off THEIR MSRP price and you can only purchase through them (Vortech). Their MSRP happens to be about $750 over what the V2 normally costs retail at a retailer. Vortech themselves do not normally sell superchargers, you must always buy through a dealer, so the switch there also shows deception. So this whole deal kind of stinks. They switch the rules and do everything they can to make sure they actually get a free unit from the customer for nothing out of their pockets. I mean why even bother offering any deal at all? I can sell this very good unit for $750 easy and buy a V2 retail for far less then their lousy exchange program. Makes no sense why they are !@#$ the customer around for no reason.

You've already figured it out then. Sell it on here - Then buy another brand if you don't like their service.

Just curious, does ProCharger have an exchange or upgrade program?

I have had Vortechs and no problems with them, but their exchange program always seemed really expensive to me so I never considered it. The blowers and accessories are well made though - no problem with the tensioner, brackets, or hoses like I've read about with PC. I don't really have any brand loyalty, but these two seem to be the best game in town for our cars.

Kind of ironic that Vortech uses a Ford tensioner on their GM kits.

yep they do actualy, you can trade in your P1SC and get a D1sc decently cheap, except they rebuild yours into the D1 (use the transmission ect...)

Maybe, but its a proven, tested part that works - so no one really cares what brand it is. Actually just makes it easier to get another one if you need to.

After further investigation the exchange would be about $1300 except I have to pay an additional 9.25% tax on the full amount. I'll just try the V1 first and see if I can live with the whine.
