Cool Vortech Aftercooler question

Has anyone had good results with the aftercooler as it is supplied by Vortech? There seemed to be some people replacing the small water tank with a bigger one.

My question is, will the stock tank supplied by Vortech be adequate or should I replace it with a bigger tank? I know the bigger mustank tank is installed at the battery location, but takes some modifications. How about using a 3 gallon fuel tank, say 8"x8"x15" and just relocating the coolant recovery tank? It seems to me there's tons of room on the battery side if the recovery tank is moved. Will a bigger tank be worth it?

Thanks,
Ed

There's one guy around town with a supercharged mustang that is using the aftercooler. He went with a bigger tank and ended up mounting it in the trunk next to his fuel cell along with a better pump to push the coolant.

Pretty impressive.

Are you using the aftercooler as supplied by vortech or have you modified it?
Thanks,

I added another heat exchanger but it wasnt used on the dyno since air doesn't flow through it... I will be adding a water tank in the trunk and pumping the water foward so I can have more buffer in it and also add ice whenever I feel like it

Water will also help in weight in the rear.. not much but something there.

So you have 2 heat exchangers now, or just uprgraded the Setrab? The setrab looks like a darn nice piece to me.

I'll probably end up putting a bigger water tank where the battery is and relocating the battery, which I was going to do anyway. I also might gut out the coolant recovery tank.
