Viton valve seals, how to

I posted here because I know a lot of the forced induction people use these seals. My question is how do they go on? Do they ride the valve stem live an umbrella seal or do they fit snug on the guide and stay stationary on the guide. Any info would be great

I've always used the stock replacements for stock LT1 castings, and those slip over the guides with a tolerance fit. The ones I've used were sold under th Fel-Pro name, but I don't know if they acutally produced them or not. Also unsure of the material, but they've lasted a hella long time for me.

What kind of Viton seals are you using?

Do the valves stems really get hot enough to justify using viton? I'm not being and @$$, I'm being serious.
