vaccum line questions

i got four things to hook up to vaccum/boost. msd 6 btm, boost gauge, fmu, and bpv. is it alright to t into any and all vaccum ports off the intake? got one more question. how often do your blowers actually push boost when using a bpv(never used one before)?the reason i ask is im only making boost for maybee 2 seconds in first gear, about a half to a full second longer in second gear, and drive theres almost no boost. i have a powerdyne running 6# pulley

thanks george

Re: vaccum line questions

you can pretty much use any vacuum line really but the one i would use the one for the smog crap on the drivers side just find the vacuum line from the smog pump and trace the line to the intake it will be on a t fitting the other line should be going to the EGR. that would be a good one if you were willing to kill the ERG like i have. on my sts kit they had me tap into a line by the computer its the only like with a check valve on it, its used for my boost gauge and a sensor for the oil pump. as far as my BOV its is t'ed off my brake booster line to the intake.......... kinda weird but it works damn good.

Re: vaccum line questions

you can run vacuum lines anywhere for the most part as long as its manifold and not ported, meaning from a source behind the throttle blades and not in front of. Manifold vacuum is there all the time. as for the bypass valve, it usually doesnt close off until youre at about 80% throttle. Then the supercharger has to cancel out the vacuum of the motor. You are getting pressurized air from the blower, just not enough at low rpms to zero out the vacuum pressure. oh and my powerdyne 6 lb setup only made like 4.5 psi so i ran the 9 lb pulley and set my rev limiter to 6k, worked like a charm although i think i woulda been faster had i reved it out, but by 6k i was usually passing the guys anyway
