update on my car

Finishing up my final year of aerospace engineering and working 30 hours per week has not allowed me any time to think about the car or visit camaroz28.com. At last, I am on spring break.
Last fall, I got the car running and drove it about 1000 miles with RealQuick's first turbo kit on it (I'm running a MP T70.) With open down pipe, it was making about 6psi with a small WG spring and it was like a rocket. With the torque being sent through CPT's race tranny, it shifted so hard from 1-2 that the bump stop on the body was slamming the rear axle on the right side on the street!
...but it was smoking bad...I added an exhaust and boost dropped to 4-4.5 psi...it felt slow, gas mileage went from 18-14 mpg and I was using 2 quarts of oil every 200 miles.

I put the motor together with Total Seal Gapless Top ring set and thought I must have put the rings in upside down! ...nope!
I pulled the motor last week and tore it down this week ...my valve guides must be too worn to handle the gapless rings. My stock heads had 112k on them. Also, i was tuning by false AF readings thanks to all the oil in the exhaust so I scorched my exhaust valves.

The solution:
A new pair of bare Dart PRO LT1 Platinums. I don't think these babies will consume any so much oil! All my current valve train will fit and I'll pick up a new set of exhaust valves. It will probably be a couple months before I have time to put it back together and start it, but I imagine it's going to scream!

...oh yeah, and I'm going to do something a little different for exhaust too....think NASCAR (but hopefully a little quieter) I don't think anybody here has pulled this off yet. Are you ready for this?....ovalized exhaust into a flat rectangular muffler with rectangular side exit just before driver's side rear tire.

Good to see the tranny is working well for you. My car should be done soon, just put the motor and tranny in today, waiting for my turbo to get here. You should bring that beast down next time your parents come down for vacation.

Do you have any pics of that setup?
Also, how did the boom tubes sound?

I'd like to see pics and get more info on this exhaust...sound clips would be nice too. What size pipe are you running, what muffler, ect.? Is it loud enough to get you pulled over for a noise violation?
