twin turbo intercooler options?

im gonna be running two t-70's and have some questions about intercoolers...i can either spend alot on a single large front mount with dual inlets and single outlet...or run two smaller intercoolers...im thinking something like this one... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742 ...mount one directly above the other one, but these claims on this intercooler just dont seem realistic...they claim 1250 cfm out of a 2.5 inch core?! ...what do you guys think?

You may need something like what is pictured below. It is a twin inlet and a single outlet. You can get them at www.phamspeed.com

Re: twin turbo intercooler options?

I have an intercooler from them for my twin turbo project that I would like to get rid of, It looks simialar to the one on the bottom. I'm going to be making my own from a large core. I would be happy to relocate the outlet any way you would like for free. Looking for $400 for it. Only has around 500 miles on it and was $650 new. I was told by them this core has supported 850 Hp on another car. Core is made by griffin. If you want a pic please email me.

Bill

INTMD8,

What kind of intercoolers are those? I know what kind of HP your car makes so those obvioulsy are not the ATI's because I hear that they are pretty restrictive. I have wondered this for a while.

Re: twin turbo intercooler options?

They were made to my specs by Griffin. 15x6x4.2 cores. (We have 2 more on the shelf)

My IAT's are around 125 after a dyno pull, and around 170 through the traps at 149mph/24lbs boost.

These are not restrictive in terms of pressure drop, but a side/side flow front mount would cool the intake charge much better. I just wanted to keep my bumper support in, and also not block any airflow to the radiator/condensor as I still have A/C.

Re: twin turbo intercooler options?

The core is 2.75x8x24. Has 2 2.5 inch inlets, and a 3 inch outlet. I was going to redo the configuration of the intercooler as I had it hooked up kinda weird. The reason I did that was I had the outlet offset 1 inch (due to the engine not being centered in the car) and when it was fabbed they made the offset the wrong direction, so instead of switching it I flipped the intercooler. Like I said I can and will move the outlet anywhere you would like, I have plenty of 3" aluminum piping and a bead roller and a nice TIG welder
