...started on it in feb., but had a bad motorcylce accident in may so i couldnt work on it for like 2 months, so really it took me about 6 months, but if i had the tools and money i could do it again in about 2 weeks
Re: Twin Turbo
umm i dunno, maybe in a year or so ill sell this one so i can upgrade, and to answer your question, you dont know how long to make stuff, you just kinda tack it together and see how it fits, if its good, weld it
Re: Twin Turbo
when you sell it, can you sell it to me, i will definately buy it! why would you upgrade from this one? what hp rating does it have? and what are these 2 combined rated at on hp, and how does your car work now with these?
p.s. what did you do with the alternator? what brackets did you use?

Nope, they don't really need to make one since their single kit is capable of over 1200 hp with the right turbo. I'm sure for the right amount of cash and with your car to prototype on, they would probably build you a kit.
Alas, I have no twin turbo Camaro, just an S10 with a set of hair dryers. One day I may even finish it.

Re: Twin Turbo
I love how people believe that anyone can build a GOOD turbo kit for an LT-1. Going turbo is VERY expensive ( if done right). I would go with PTK, which I have done. YOu will spend 4,599 for the kit without a turbo. You will need to figure in a engine build, forged parts, fuel system, 12bolt or 9 inch rear, stock reprogrammed or aftermarket computer. And this can get more expensive when you want more HP! If you havent ever built a turbo kit I would buy one. Actually even if you have I would buy atleast the hot parts from PTK. I have YET to see anyone on here even that has a home built kit that looks as good as PTK's stuff. 100% tig welded absolutely beautiful. Almost a shame that you have to bolt it onto a dirty automobile
They have several customers making 1,000+rwhp with there gen1 and gen2 kits in F-bodies not to metion all of the hundreds of mustangs running around.

I was gonna find INTMD8's car cause its a wonderful example of packaging for a twin setup but then on their main page... BAM! Turns out LS1speed has women now
So I got distracted.....
Some shots of when I was first fitting things under the hood, just before the alternator went back in and the brakes lines got replaced w/linelock...
Cram much?(copynpaste)
Ouch1
Ouch2
Yes, the hood does close!
And I'm rewelding that intercooler before you say anything.
Its so obnoxious sticking stuff under the hoods of our cars I'm amazed we can do as much as we can. Pat ourselves on the back here guys - GM didnt make it easy for us!
Edit:Found the pics I was looking for!

That has got to be one of the most impressive twin turbo lt1 installs I've ever seen. Got the left intake pipe right around the alternator and everything.

Maybe that was a prototype system and things didn't fit exactly like a jiged production system, I don't know. FWIW for the 3500 you spend for PTK to weld together your sysem, you can purchase a good TIG welder, and pay for a class to teach you what to do, buy a portaband saw, chop saw, small air compressor, a die grinder, and a small rotary disc sander, and you would be in possession of nearly all the tools to build anything you need for a turbo kit. Plus if you ever wanted to change anything, you could do it yourself. Screw production Kits
