Turbo blankets??

Does anybody here use those PTK's Turbo Blankethttp://www.forcedinductions.com/product7.htm
I was wondering because I have a rearmounted turbocharger and I know after sometime the housing will turn rusty. I was wondering if I could use this on my garrett turbo and will it affect the performance or anything like that.

Re: Turbo blankets??

The turbo blanket that you are reffering to is mostly used to cut down the high underhood temps created by a front mount turbo system. Other companies caim increased HP and efficiency, but if any I would think the gains in that arena are going to be limited. PTK's site states a 40% decrease in underhood temps. Nothing is said with respect to HP gains. I would have the exhaust housing coated with a ceramic. That way it wont rust. It will also have an insulating effect.
